Why do hearts become weaker?

why-do hearts become-weaker

Heart failure is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, yet we still don’t fully understand why the heart gradually loses its ability to pump effectively. We are trying to understand the biological processes that drive this decline. Despite decades of research, major gaps remain: we still lack reliable early markers of disease, a clear picture of the molecular triggers that push the heart into failure, and truly effective therapies that halt or reverse damage. By investigating these unanswered questions, we hope to build the scientific foundation needed to protect millions of people and reduce the enormous public health burden imposed by heart failure.
